What is the difference between SFP-GE-T and GLC-T?
I have some information from this link, but I need to know if I could one for the other.

Hi,
They are operationally identical and can be interchanged with no problems - the only difference is that the SFP-GE-T conforms to NEBS Level 3 and the GLC-T doesn't. (Well, I think the SFP-GE-T costs a bit more too..)
HTH - plz rate useful posts (not just mine!)

Hi,
It's easy to find the "what" of NEBS, but slightly harder to find the "why" of NEBS, which is nicely explained here:

I'll also add that the SFP-GE-T is a little bit more expensive...maybe $40 more (retail) but it works in switches or routers like the ASR while the GLC-T is for switches only. I learned the hard way.

What happens when you put a GLC-T into a router?
Does it give you some sort of error message?

for me , GLC_T didnt work in ASR 1002x, but did work on ASR1001x.
dont know why, so i buy SFP_GE_T for Routers.

Make sure you check the compatibility matrix here. It also depends on the software you are running on the platform.
