I am wanting to test one Aironet 1510 Wireless AP without running a Wireless LAN Controller, is this possible? I cannot find any documentation for being able to do this.

Hi Jason,
Unfortunately, you do need a wireless controller to operate the 1510 series.
The 1510 is a lightweight access poing; that is, it requires firmware and options that only a controller can provide.
If you need an outdoor mesh AP, you can check into the 1520 series, which is available with a standalone IOS. If you just need a rugged outdoor AP, the 1300 series is available as a standalone AP.
