Where should the dhcp helper or server address be put on? You can either put on Interface or WLAN, is there an operational impact depending on which one you choose?

DHCP address should be entered in the dynamic interface. DHCP override is used if you have another dhcp server other than what you have configured in the interface you want to use. So since you can configure a primary and secondary on the dynamic interface, why would you set it on the WLAN SSID? Unless you have issues with your dhcp server and want to test or use antoher dhcp server.

The dhcp should be put on the interface. Only use the dhcp override if you are testing.

Testing? In our set up both boxes are checked under the advanced tab for the wlan with an ip addr of a gre tunnel endpoint as the dhcp svr ip addr. in the int config under controller tab no dhcp info is entered, dhcp is only on the wlan itself. I dont understand your testing comment..can you explain.
tnx

fella5, thanks for helping me understand this better.

fella5,
Good response. The use of the DHCP override feature to test a potential DHCP issue is a good idea.

What might be other reasons to use the DHCP override features?

No other reason.... you either use the one configured on the interface or the dhcp override on the ssid. Your best bet is to have it set in the interface.
