Inserts in GEIP+.

Dear experts

I have one problem on Cisco 7513 router.

I need to insert GEIP+ on the Cisco 7513

so I insert GEIP+ to slot3 but is not work.

Below log is the "show diag " output.

Slot 3:

Physical slot 3, ~physical slot 0xC, logical slot 3, CBus 0

Microcode Status 0x4

Master Enable, LED, WCS Loaded

Board is analyzed

The GEIP+ is based on the VIP4-80.

when you show diag, output display that Controller Memory Size is *Unkown*. i`m not sure, but I think it is because of IOS version high, maybe 12.1X is suitably for GEIP+. Cisco suggestion is higher than 12.1(3)E.

but, if you have a GBIC, insert it into GEIP+(ignore system error), to our surprise, GBIC will work well on 12.2(6).

Hi, lee

I`ve met the same problem, then I changed IOS from 122-25 to 122-18, it was solved.

but I`m not sure 122-25 is not compatible with GEIP+. but GBIC is work well with 122-25!

it`s only a suggestion :)

As your advise,I changed IOS version from

12.2(6) to 12.1(23)E4 and it was solved.

Can I ask one more question?

We need to use a ENHANCED ATM DS3 PA and ENHANCED ATM OC3 SMI PA.

So thease port adapters are working in this IOS version?
