CME intermitant incoming low volume calls

Hi, I am experiencing intermitant low volume incoming calls on CME 4.1 with a PRI. Especially and mostly when doing a group pickup of another extension. There is no discernable pattern to the quiet calls, from various local, national and international numbers.

Any help appreciated.

Ryan

Hi, I suggest you upgrade to 12.4(11)XJ4 that is the most stable release with most bugfixes.

For the phones I suggest 8.2(2)SR4 alsto latest stable.

I have this combo on many customers, but admittedly they don'use group pick-up.

Hi, can you send output of "show controllers E1" or T1. you may be getting slips.

Your right on the slips. here is a partial output. Will this be a provider issue?

E1 0/0/0 is up.

Applique type is Channelized E1 - balanced

No alarms detected.

alarm-trigger is not set

And you will be ok.

Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

Thanks, I will give it a go and see how it gets on. I will have to leave it for a few days for the company to come back to me.

Sure. Remember, ISR routers need network-clock commands. Older models do not.

The commands have resolved the slip issues on the E1 card. However, I am still experiencing intermittant and seemingly random quiet/silent incomming calls when the call is answered via a group pick-up.

Any Ideas?

Which exact IOS are you using, which phone types and firmware on them ?

IOS is spservicesk9-mz.124-15T1 sitting on a 2811 with 64Mb Flash and 256Mb Dynamic Ram.

CUME is 4.1(0)with 2 x 32 PVDM modules.

Phones are 14 x 7941G running SCCP41.8-2-2SR1S all placed in 1 pick-up group.

Direct calls to extensions seem to be fine. The quiet calls are when a group pick-up is done. Also the silence is one way. incoming can't be heard, but out going can be.

Ok, Thanks, I will give it a go and see how things pan out.

Have you resolved these problems? I have exactly the same problems.

Have you checked for slips ?

Yes I have. And the only problem we have is when we use group pickup. Otherwise the sound is normal.

Which exact IOS are you using. If anything lesse than 12.4(XJ4) suggest you upgrade to that.

Thing is I've heard that issue already, but I haven;t a bug to reference.
