We are getting a new 6 meg connection from Level3, we currently has a qwest T1 and a full class C from qwest. How can we adjust BGP to the external world to prefer the Level 3 link even though the IP range is a qwest range?

Hi,
You can't, as Qwest routes are not originated in level 3 AS.
The Outside world will always try getting to the routes originated from their AS. and they will prefer the shortest path to it.

So you can't adjust any metrics to 'force' the other path?

Right Clark, you can't..
Since 2nd Service provider doesnt own those routes, it wont get back through it. (Make sense)
