CALL MANAGER EXPRESS
config
-c2801-advipservicesk9-mz.124-15.T.bin
-cme-gui-3.3.x.tar UPLOADED
-NO CME BASIC FILES UPLOADED
-WIth the above in my flash, i was just wondering why iam able to do the call manager express configuration.
-my understanding is that i need a corresponding cme-basic..tar file to upload to the router for call manager express to work.
CORRECT ME IF IAM WRONG. AND WHY I COULD DO CONFIGURATION ON CME?

The files are only needed on flash if you want to load ringtones, GUI files or phone firmware loads to handsets. The actual configuration of the telephony-service has no dependence on any of these files.

Yes - CME is a software function built into IOS. The supporting files are stored on the flash, but the clever bits are inside IOS.
