CCNP switch

I am looking to buy a cisco switch. What type should i get? I am looking at a 2950 or something in the 3500 series.

I have this problem too.

Hi Bryan,

If you want to have cheap switches, then 2950 and 3550 may be OK.

If you think in longer term, and can afford more expensive and more feature rich switches, then use 2960 and 3560. 3560 with advanced ip services and encryption capabilities.

You will be able to use the 3560 for switching and routing configurations as well.

In addition, it will probably for long time be used in the CCIE labs exams.
