Disk Mirroring on MCS-7925H-3.0

I've read this document: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/products/hw/voiceapp/ps378/products_tech_note09186a00800942b4.shtml

regarding disk mirroring, but it mentions it is for 7930 or 7935 servers.

I have a 7925H-3000 that I would like to add a second hard drive for failure protection. Is this supported?

Hi Ben,

It's hard to find much about the 7925H-3000 due to the EoL/EoS status of this product. You will see in this notice that RAID config is sadly not supported :(

Hope this helps!

Okay, I was mistaken before about what server I have. I'm finding conflicting docs with what I show I have and what I can find.

On my CM server the tag reads: MCS-7825H-3.0-SERVER.

My SmartNET lists it as: MCS-7825H-3.0-IPC2.

In any of the compatibility matricies (I'm looking at going to 6.1), I can only find MCS-...-IPC1 servers listed.

When I mentioned adding a second HDD to the CM server to a TAC tech he didn't balk.

What's right and where can I find definitave info?

Hi Ben,

Hope all is well with you! Here is how to determine the actual model;

From Chris;

Look in registry under:

SOFTWARE\Cisco Systems\System Info\Hardware key

The older 7835H-3000 specs were very similar to the 7835H-3000 except for the redundant drives. I'm 99% sure if you have the older 7825 model you won't be able to set the Mirrored Drives up.

The Cisco MCS 7825H-3000 provides an entry level rack mount server that occupies only one rack mounting space. This server is equipped with an Intel Pentiumâ„¢ 4 3000 MHz processor, 40GB ATA hard drive and a single non-hot swap power supply.

Here is the 7835H-3000 which was different due to the RAID Drives;

The Cisco MCS 7835H-3000 provides a highly available mid-level rack mounted server solution that is equipped with an Intel Prestonia Xeonâ„¢ 3000 MHz processor, up to six hot-swap Small Computer Systems Interface (SCSI) hard disks, a Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) 1/0 Controller, hot swap fans and redundant hot swap power supplies.

This doc shows all the supported models for the different CCM Versions including CCM 6.1 once you determine your exact model #;

Thanks again for the help. I read it before, and rediscovered it after posting, the EoL doc you provided before listed the -IPC2 part number as part of the -3000 model.

At least I know for sure the EoL status and compatibility with CUCM 6.1
