Hi guys,

What is the correct way to determine the memory of a cat6500 running native IOS (sup720)?

I see something with sh ver and sh mem, but both don't seem to be correct.

I have this problem too.

Hi,

use sh ver command

the o/p will be like this....

cisco WS-C6513 (R7000) processor (revision 1.0) with 458720K/65536K bytes of memory

This means..you have 512 MB RAM ...458720K+65536K=512MB

sh mem shows..

Head Total(b) Used(b) Free(b) Lowest(b) Largest(b)

Processor 437E8700 411105536 63569112 347536424 345609336 236958232

Under Total(b)...you will find something like 411105536...it means...as of now you are having nearly 410MB available memory for the processes....The remaining say..102MB (512MB) is used for the IOS to load in memory.

I hope it helps u....Pls..rate if it helps..
