Dear Forum,
I am trying to activate an old PIX-515E (Restricted Software) which has been idle for more than 2 years.
The problem is I can not get to the login prompt. I used Hyperterminal to access the console port. I only get this response from the box:
"CISCO SYSTEMS PIX FIREWALL
Embedded BIOS Versopn 4.3.207 01/02/02 16:12:22.73
Compiled by morlee
32 MB RAM
PCI Device Table.
Bus Dev Func VendID DevID Class Irq
00 00 00 8086 7192 Host Bridge
00 07 00 8086 7110 ISA Bridge
00 07 01 8086 7111 IDE Controller
00 07 02 8086 7112 Serial Bus 9
00 07 03 8086 7113 PCI Bridge
00 0D 00 8086 1209 Ethernet 11
00 0E 00 8086 1209 Ethernet 10
"
Then I get nothing else, no login prompt or nothing.
Please help. Has this box broken? I need to login to the box to configure it.
Thanks in advance..
Best rgds,
Jonny.

boot the firewall and once it starts booting press the esc key to break into ROM mode, let me know if you can get to the ROM mode, and I can take you furrther from there but if you can't even go to the ROM mode ..then just Replacement is the option

I pressed Esc key, here is the response:
"32 MB RAM
Testing mode menu:
1. Test floating point.
2. Test protected mode.
3. Exhaustive Test first 640k.
4. Exhaustive Test high memory.
*. Start all tests (Any key to stop tests).
C. Continue.
"
I have tried all options. Nothing get me to the login prompt.
What to do?
Thanks in advance.
