External Call Routing

Hi,

We have 2 CallManager Express setup. One is located in Canada and the other one is located in Italy.

They are in the same private network as we are using a global VPN connection between our offices.

I would like to know if it is possible to route external calls so that if someone from Canada calls a phone number in Europe, the call is routed to the CME box in Italy and "gets out" there, instead of "going out" from Montreal.

That way, oversea calls are cost-effective. It's cheaper to call France from Italy than to call France from Canada :)

Thank you.

Yes you should be able to do that. Toll by-pass is one major reason for using a VOIP system. I don't have CME but I would think this would be an easy thing to setup. On the Canadian CME it would just be a matter of defining your European calls so the route pattern points at the Italy CME.
