Number of Asychronous Interface on AS5350XM ...

Hi Experts,

I am setting up an AS5350XM gateway and I notice that the default Async Interfaces are from int 1/0 - 1/59 and 2/0 to 2/59 which means that there are 120 Asycn interfaces.

My question is that if I have say 3 E1 lines, which means that I would the capability to have 96 lines and I would only need to set 96 Async interface out of the 120 Async interfaces that I have.

Would this be correct ?

The async line capacity is set by the number of SPE's (Signal Processing Elements). Each SPE carrier card has 60 channels and since you have 2 (slot 1 and slot 2) then you could terminate 120 calls.

This is the equivalent to 4 E1's worth of traffic (4 interfaces by 30 channels). So if you have 3 E1's, then you will have some spate capacity.
