Hi folks, anyone out there using QoS Policy Manager 4.0 in production to do QoS (classification, shaping, reporting) on your WAN routers?
Does that usually can do the job or are you folks relying on specialized packet shapers (i.e., Packeteer) to do this?

Hi,
Never use and never heard. I use Packetshaper as it can be setup in a cluster mode for redundant link. Also, if there are hundreds of shaping need to do, I want to free the routers from all of these as I want my core routers to do routing and switching as fast as possible.
But all these depends in your network architecture, objective, and budget :)
Regards,
Dandy

Another respondent that doesn't use Policy Manager. Also don't use any 3rd party QoS appliance. Do have extensive QoS policies manually applied to every WAN interface (70 routers?).
