PIX Devices Running Versions 6.2 and 6.3
"Issue the activation-key command in order to change your activation key if the PIX currently runs versions
6.2 or 6.3." Why do I have to do this ? Thx, Peter@it-123.co.uk

Reason for your question is "Updates the PIX Firewall activation key unless there is a mismatch between the Flash memory and running PIX Firewall software versions".
Refer the pix 6.3 command reference for more information
