Route pattern wildcards and special characters allow a single route pattern to match a range of numbers (addresses). These wildcards and special characters are also used to build instructions that enable the Cisco CallManager to manipulate a number before sending it to an adjacent system.

Can you explain in words which pattern of numbers you want to match ?
