New Licence keys: Do I have to apply it manually or not?

Friday, I got two new licence keys for McAfee Anti-Virus for our appliance.

We have installed 5.5.1-011 and have this instructions:

For AsyncOS 4.7 or later, you can automatically download and apply the key(s):

In the Web Interface, use the System Administration > Feature Keys page.
In the Command Line Interface, issue the command 'featurekey'.

Today, I have a look at the Web Iinterface but the keys seems already been downloaded automatically - the Expiration date is set to a date in 2010.

Just to be sure: Do I have to enter the new keys regardless of the displayed "Expiration date" on the ...https://1.2.3.4/system_administration/feature_keys/feature_keys Webpage?

no, you're fine, it is updated automatically.

To be precise: It depends on the feature keys settings you have configured.
You can check automatically for keys and you can also choose to activate them automatically.

If your new key is already active you probably have configured your systems to check and activate them automated. In that case you are done now.

Best regards,
Steven

Thank you both for the fast answers. You are right, under "System Administation" my "Feature Key Settings" are:

Automatically Check For New Feature Keys: Enabled
(Last download attempt made on: 24 Feb 2008 23:45 (GMT))
Automatically Apply Downloaded Feature Keys: Enabled
