Friends,
I want to install CCM5 on vmware but my laptop hardware specifications are
not meeting. I am also working on ccm5 (MSC7835) now a day. I heard from
someone that if somehow i will make the image of ccm5 running on msc7835 and
then i can use that image with vmware on my laptop. Since ccm5 only check
the hardware at the time of installation. Please help me or tell me any
other way. As i have both MSC7835 machine and CCM5 cds but want to run on my
laptop.
Waiting for your positive response.....
Best Regards

1. CUCM 5 and up checks hardware every boot
2. the registry hack you refer to, to make the install think it is an MCS works only on windows based versions of CUCM.
3. CUCM 6 will install on VMWARE with a "demo" license. 50 DLUs and single server.

you may install CM5/CM6 on VMWare. I did that many times. but you're not going to get support from Cisco TAC on it.
