NTP Error: failed validity tests

Hi,

I have a very simple NTP config that consists of these commands:

ntp source vlan 210

ntp update-calendar

ntp server xxx.xxx.234.10 prefer

ntp server xxx.xxx.234.12

The clock remains unsynchronized. Host xxx.xxx.234.10 is a firewall that gets its time from an internet source. I've verified with our firewall team that there is a rule in place on their firewall to allow my router to get NTP from their firewall.

If I debug NTP, I get this error:

NTP: packet from xxx.xxx.234.10 failed validity tests 20

Peer/Server Clock unsynchronized

Anyone know what that means? I've tried looking it up and got no good tips.

Thanks in advanced for any help.

According to some notes I have the NTP error code of 0x20 indicates Peer clock unsynchronized (common for unsynched server)

Is it possible that your firewall has lost NTP sync with its server?
