Failover to VPN

I have been tasked to set up a VPN in the event that our MPLS connections go down. I have 4 sites all with ASAs. Can someone assist me with this? There are many factors at play here but I guess the first thing I need to understand is failover from a router standpoint. I'm fairly new to this so it's kind of trial by fire. Is there any one place to start for planning this?
