Hi,

We want to purchase ASA5550, this FW come with 8 Gig interface + 1 FE + 4 gig SFP. My questions are:

1) Can we use all these interface "or if we use the copper the fiber are disabled"?

2)We want to use: One copper interface "As an Outside Interface"

, Three copper interfaces "An an Inside Interface" and One fiber interface for failover. Can we do that?

Hi,

1) You can't use all the interfaces at the same time. Basically the 5550 has two buses, corresponding to Slot0 and Slot1. The 4 copper ports in Slot0 can always be used. However, you can only use a total of 4 ports from Slot1, which can 4 fibre, 4 copper, or any combination.

2) Not sure exactly what you mean by 3 copper interfaces "as inside", do you mean 3 separate DMZ's?
