Hi all,

I need a help with this one.

We have configured one our physical interface (X) to be without an IP address and we have created on the same interface the VLAN interfaces (E, F, G, H). But because we have our PIX in failover we observed following, see attachment.

What does it mean?

Any idea?

Hi,

The interfaces are not monitored.

The command (in global configuration mode) for monitoring the interfaces is:

monitor-interface if_name (where if_name is the name of the interface).

You must repeat this command for every interface you want to monitor.

I hope this helps.

Best regards.

Massimiliano.

Hi Massimiliano,

thanks for help. It is very helpful for us.

I have one additional question.

Why we see Interface X (physical interface)

in primary PIX Link Down and in secondary we see

on the same place Unknown. Interface of primary PIX is connected to the same switch as interface of secondary PIX with trunk configued

on it.

Any idea?
