we've recently been sent a 2700 location appliance by Cisco to evaluate. unfortunatley i've 'broken' it already!
the 2700 came with software 2.0 and i upgraded it manually to latest v4.
after the upgrade i got java exception errors when i ran the command /opt/locserver/bin/getserverinfo so i downloaded latest version of 2.0 and installed that.
when i run /opt/locserver/bin/getserverinfo i get the following:-
[root@loc-server root]# /opt/locserver/bin/getserverinfo
com.aes.client.AesClientException: Failed to connect to server: http://localhost:8001

the server is started but i can't stop it - i get the following when i try:-
[root@loc-server root]# /etc/init.d/locserverd start
Starting locserverd:
[root@loc-server root]# /etc/init.d/locserverd stop
Shutting down locserverd: com.aes.client.AesClientException: Failed to connect to server: http://localhost:8001

the 2700 can't be managed by WCS and i can't start/stop the location server. when i try and uninstall/install i get the message that:-
Server is still running, stop the server and try again...
any help appreciated
thanks

fixed this - manually killed the locserverd process and could then uninistall the server - after reinstall i can now connect the location appliance to the WCS
