Has anyone run into a problem where the pattern searches seem to execute, then pop up a small browser window which immediately closes?

I'm going through:

RME - Config Mgmt - Config Editor - Config Files

It seems like this is a simple task, and I have no idea how I could be doing it wrong. Documents and forum searches are not turning anything up.
