Routing Protocol support for ACE

Hi all,

As i am very new to content engines , Just few quick questions:

1. My customer is using OSPF, IMHO , as the ACE is loaded on a C6500, the OSPF will be utilized by the core switch and ACE wil utilize the static routing .

2. In the hardware design , the ACE is "always" place after the MSFC or we need to configure anything specific to place it after the MSFC ?

please do enlighten.

Cheers

Shukla.

yes, no routing on ACE. Only static route.

You can also use RHI to inject route into the MSFC.

You don't really need the MSFC, but since you need a default gateway, the MSFC is normally to first choice.

Gilles.

Thanx Gilles,

good option , as my cust was asking if we can remove the MSFC and have a direct link to the ACE (So we can ).

Secondly :

1. On the ACE module we have this hidden ports NP1, NP2, ...etc , do we need to configure that or is it used for special cases.

2. In terms of HTTP load balancing to caching-servers, which predictor complies with best practice format, VIP, L4 (src or dst port nos ), L7 ??

3. Cust says, 40% traffic is worm traffic, can DPI (Deep packet inspection) be performed on ACE and some kind of traffic be monitored for worm traffic via 3rd party application.

i know, load of questions.

feel free to answer any of them.

Thanx

Shukla.
