UC500 VPN Performance

Unanswered Question

I'm quite familiar with the performance of an ASA 5500 firewall in regards to VPN and firewall throughput, but does anyone know where I can find the performance specs for the UC500 CME devices?

What is your uplink speed?

The UC500 share CPU with the 2801, 2811 or in between, so e.g. 10 mbps would not be a problem.

Uplink will typically be from 384k to 5mb depending on the customer, but a local provider in the area provides 100mb up/down fiber connections. I typically encrypt traffic on the provider's connection, but I'd like to ensure the data performance on that link (if encrypted). Do you know if the UC has the same hardware based encryption as the 2800?

Yes it has it, from the data sheet:

The Cisco Unified Communications 500 Series includes built-in hardware-based encryption acceleration that offloads IP Security (IPsec), Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), Data Encryption Standard (DES), and Triple DES (3DES) encryption and VPN processes to provide increased VPN throughput on the Cisco Unified Communications 500 Series platform.
