i can no longer session or telnet into the communication media module. Is there away to connect to the module directly.

Remove the cmm from the chassi, on the upper right corner you have an RJ45 interface. Connect your console cable on that interface and than insert the module on the chassi. With this you will have console connection to the cmm.
