Here is a strange IP phone query.....

Level 1

Customer runs 7940's with firmware 8.3. The Call Agent is on 4.1 version software.

Customer reports that all their phones at one time or another - around 200 receive intermittantly & individually a 2 second twill type tone as if an incoming call is being received.

Please see the below trace I have taken off the CA.

Hi Carl,

It looks to me like the phone in question SEP001E4A340ED7 is sent an Audible Call Pickup Notification, which is very odd because Audible Call Pickup Notification is not added in CCM until CCM 4.2.x I beleive.

Can you send us your exact version with SR's.

Thanks,

Rob

i agree with Rob

PickupNotify::sendNotifyReq:SENT NOTIFY MemberDn:Partition= Phones_PT:9596

this does look like pickup notification and just to confirm that the pickup notification was indeed added until CCM 4.2(X), this capability was not in any 4.1(x) release

maybe you do have 4.2(x), back when i was at TAC i found about this with a case in which the complaint was almost the same. several phones showed a call and played a charm sound but were not able to answer the call since there was no answer softkey, it turned out that it was a pickup notification.

just to confirm go into the pickup group for the phone and look for Call Pickup Group Notification Policy
