Guys, do you think it makes sense extend plenum cable "everywhere" in a certain large facility? I have had this discussion and I think that there is no need to use plenum cable 'everywhere' due to cost increase. Please advise.

Mr. News:
I would have to disagree. Plenum is fire resistant, which is why you should definitely use it whenever possible.
Thanks

BICSI would not require this. It really is a preference. Plenum serves the purpose for plenum air space in a ceiling. If you are in a wharehouse then why use plenum. It is all specific to your air space.

Hi,
No, you don't need Plenum Cable everywhere. Use of Plenum Cable has its purpose, for example use it in plenum spaces.
A true architect does not just use the "best", but use it where it really needed.

Dandy

Beyond what makes senses, you might need to consider what's allowed or required by your building and/or fire codes.
