I want to see interface up/down on my switch IOS syslog server

I am trying to get the switch to send interface up/down messages to the syslog server. My CatOS switch sends these messages but not my IOS. When I want to see what port a user is on I ask them to disconnect their cable but on the IOS switch I get no message. I have tried all the levels still NG. I do get messages on my syslog server for other things - I have 4500 switches...

The 6500 and 4500 series switches do not log these kinds of events automatically, like the 3560 or the 3750 do.

You must configure the logging event link-status command at interface level or global.

Thank You! It only works on an interface level though and not global. I can eaisly change all the interfaces. tnks!
