CSM SLB using LeastConn - not working

Unanswered Question

Hi all, i configured SLB using a vserver with 2 reals. Everything is operational... Set for Leastconn, everything else default.

Issue is 6 sessions are open to the VIP, all 6 go to REAL1. Only when Real1 is turned off does Real2 get any traffic, when Real1 is reactivated, all traffic goes back to real1... sticky is set for default, and min connections set for 0.

Is there something I'm missing? I used the GUI to do the configurations, deliver it to file, and dump the commands to CLI.

I have this problem too.

when you configure leastconn, you should always specify a timeout, otherwise the slowstart algorithm can run forever.

This algorithm determine that a server that is newly added should not receive connection until after some criteria.

You can read more about this in our documentation.

In the meantime configure a timeout like this :

gdufour-cat6k-2(config)#mod csm 3

gdufour-cat6k-2(config-module-csm)#server linux1

gdufour-cat6k-2(config-slb-sfarm)#pre leas

gdufour-cat6k-2(config-slb-sfarm)#pre leastconns ?

slowstart configure slow start timer

gdufour-cat6k-2(config-slb-sfarm)#pre leastconns slo

gdufour-cat6k-2(config-slb-sfarm)#pre leastconns slowstart ?

<1-65535> maximum slow-start expiry timer in secs
