Hi,

Is there any conditions required for configuring HSRP. It is only applicable for simmiler devices or anything?it is a CISCO propritary one ok, the devices which are having the same configuration and same model then only we can impliment HSRP like any rule?

Hi Sham

HSRP is Cisco proprietary but it does not have to be between the same device type etc. For example you could have an interface on a 2800 router and an interface on a 7200 router and run HSRP between them. As long as these interfaces are in the same IP subnet it will all work fine.
