VPN between Red Hat Server and PIX

Hi all,

a customer has an internal server running Linux Red Hat that transmits sensitive data to an external (Internet) destination. The customer wants an IPSEC tunnel to be opened by the server and terminated on PIX, that finally opens a tunnel towards the receiving endpoint. People managing the server tell me that they can establish an "host to gateway" tunnel by using IPSEC embedded in Red Hat Kernel. Do you know if this server to PIX VPN is possible without the use of any Cisco VPN Client? Does any document describe this case?

Thanks a lot

Yes, this is possible as PIX supports IPsec VPN not only from vpn client but from other sources too. You will only need to make sure that the VPN parameters on both sides are same.
