Its states that distributed forwarding is enabled by default on 6500 but when I do:

I believe dCEF is dependent on whether there's a DFC installed on the line card.

Thanks for response, before I enable "ip cef distributed", will I lose connectivity and will my 6724 that does not have DFC card still work properly?

The short answers are no and yes, respectively.
If you're worried, set up a window and do it then.
