Static nat and proxy arp issues

Hello,

I'm using Cisco Pix 515E, 8.0(3). I have in my configuration this statement.

static (inside,dmz) 172.16.0.0 172.16.0.0 netmask 255.255.0.0.

I would like to ask you if there could be problems with duplicite IP addresses. Because PIX during static nat respond on behalf of translated host.

Hi,

There's no "duplicate" issue here. The configuration you have is called mirroring NAT which is like having a no-nat configuration. As long as you don't have overlapping networks on different statics you're ok to go.
