Solved: CLI 7970G via SSH

Hi all I am new to the cisco environment and have a 7970G IP telephone

I would like to configure the device from a SSH session and not use CME manager

Would I be able to issue the command from the CLI to setup the phone or would I have to transfer the SEP XML file from a tftp server to change the settings

As I cannot see a editor on the phone or even the XML configuration file (what directory is it kept)

if so what would be the process to transfer the file also what process would I need to restart to take the new changes without loosing the connection to the telephone

also is there a online PDf for all the commands that i can issue

No configuration file is visible via ssh and no configuration is possible with CLI. There is no root login. All the details are in the page that I wrote:

Hi,

is not possible to configure the phone via CLI.

The only method is the XML files. I'm not aware of any editor, the xml files are supposed to be automatically generated by the call manager.

(and here is a silly question )

I have logged in via the login default

what is the password for root

would i get any more options here if i did login via root

Do you have a working config that can be used with a sip provider ?

Check on voip-info.org, numerous example files are kept there.
