Hi Vinoth,

This problem for 7940's and 7960's was discovered the Sunday after the DST Time change. Here is a good description of the fix from Mahesh@Cisco;

If the issue is only with 7940/60 phones, then we have seen a lot of similar cases today and are working to get a permanent fix to the issue. However as a workaround, you could resolve it by going into the Start >> Programs >> Microsoft SQL Server >> Enterprise Manager >> CCM database >> Table >> "TypeTimeZone" >> Right Click Open Table >> Return All Rows and manually set the "stddate" and "dstdate" to "0/11/0/1,2:0:0:0" and "0/3/0/2,2:0:0:0" respectively for each US timezone.

CM Service needs to be restarted.

From this long detailed thread;

http://forums.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/NetProf?page=netprof&forum=Unified%20Communications%20and%20Video&topic=IP%20Telephony&CommCmd=MB?cmd=display_location&location=.1dddd0fe/40

Hope this helps!

Rob

Hi Rob and Vinoth,

I had the same issue this morning with the time change and did the workaround with "TypeTimeZone". You are correct, it only worked with the 7940/60 phones.

Do you have any workarounds for the 7961/7970 phones?

Please let me know.

Thanks,

Melinda Clancy

Hi Melinda,

What type of patches did you do on CCM? What firmware are the 3rd generation phones running. Try a reset of the effected phones(not restart) from ccmadmin.

Let us know,

Rob

Hey Rob,

Thanks for getting back so quickly!!

The patches on CCM are the patches that 1st came out last year when the DST decided to be early. These patches were done by our vendor so I am not sure of the answer.

Thank you, the reset on the 7970's did cure the time and now are showing the current time.

The 7961G-GE firmware load is Term41.7-0-3-OS. The reset did not help.

Also, changing "TypeTimeZone"this is only a temporary fix correct?

Also, I am just an old PBXer attempting the VOIP world, so please be patient with me if I answer a question with a stupid answer.

Please let me know.

Melinda

Hey Melinda,

No worries :) I am sure I'm older than you and this stuff is crazy! There is no such thing as a stupid question and yours, in fact, are excellent.

For the 3rd Generation phones like the 7961 you need to upgrade the phone firmware to at least 8.2.2sr1 for them to work properly with the DST changes.

The Time Zone fix is a temporary workaround.

Have a look at the attached doc that outlines the required changes to different CCM Versions to be DST compliant.

Hope this helps!

Hi Rob,

We have a similar issue for our CCM (Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express, Version 4.1(0)) in Mexico. After Mexico changed its time last April 6th, the clock seems OK on the router (as the CCM is within the router) and the telephony-service, but the phones are 1 hour ahead.

Can you please point me to a right direction? Are there docs I may read in order to solve this?

Thank you and regards,

Hernan

I have same problems with UC520. Phones are 7941. IP Communicator also has wrong date and time when registered to this UC520, but OK with 2811 CME.

Hi Guys,

Have a look at this good doc;

Hope this helps!

Hi Rob,

Callmanager 4.1 (3)sr3A

Better late than never. I am finally working on getting the DST problem going before the November time change. I put in a ticket with TAC and he came back with "load the ES 147". The part that concerns me is that he keeps referring to me as being from a different company. Have you heard of the ES 147 for DST and what other things it might change?

Anyway, back in March, I did the "TypeTimeZone" and changed the "stddate" and "dstdate". I know that this is not the fix. Do you know what I need to do or where to go for the 7900 DST final fix for the phones (7905, 7940, 7960, 7912, 7970, 7961, 7961GE, and 7936?) Also, I went to the 8.2.2 phone load page for the 7961 that you reference and I am getting a Forbidden file error.

Please let me know.

Thanks,

Melinda

Hi Melinda,

Hey ... better late than never my friend! You should be fully good to go with ES 147. This will be the latest and greatest ES for 4.1(3) and will include much newer phone firmware than 8.2.2. these new versions all contain the DST Fix :)

Have a look at the Readme for the latest SR and ES 147 is even newer. The included Firmware for phones is shown below;
