I'm running callmanager 6.1 and I'm trying to figure out how to add a custom background for our new 7945/7965 phones. The only documentation I can find that relates is for CallManager 5.1. I'm wondering if there is any information on the background image requirements for a 7945 and 7965 phone. The CM 5.1 guide for custom backgrounds mentions using the program âbmp2logoâ to create a logo file from the bmp. I couldn't find that program in my callmanager, and the only copy I could find on cisco's site was on the page for the 7005 phones. I' m wondering a few things:
1. What are the background image requirement for a 7945/7965 phones?
2. Is there a different version on bmp2logo that I should be using?
3. Are there better instructions for 6.1 than I'm using? (I'm using http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/rel_notes/5_1_3/cucm-rel_notes-513a.html#wp192816 )
Any help would be awesome.

Does CM6.1 use the List.xml? I understood that it doesn't. My server does not have a List.xml file, nor does it have a "desktops" directory. CM6.1 is not running windows, so browsing the file structure for me isn't as easy as windows, but I've rooted around and found no such List.xml file or "Desktops" directory. I have found the Ringlist.xml without any problem. I could always create those files and directories, but the link I provided in my first post describes a very different way of configuring a custom background - but the bmp2logo program gives a âFile read errorâ when trying to use a 320x212 picture. Any advice?

I figured it out. I had to create the List.xml and the "/Desktops/320x212x16" folder, but then everything was fine. I didn'r realize that the default image was stored in the firmware, I was expecting to already have the List.xml file with the default image setup. Thanks for your help.

Hi Jonathan,
Nice work :) How do you like the 7945's and 7965's? We are about to order some of each.
Take care, and thanks for the nice rating and for posting back,
Rob

We don't have any in production right now, I'm just playing with one on my desk. I will be deploying about 50 of them in the next month or so in Barrow, Alaska. I like them a lot so far. Nice screen, new navigation buttons, it's all nice. A lot of users are asking when they're getting some because they like the screen.
