Make sure you have enough free disk space in flash before you begin the extract.

I don't see 4.2.0.1 posted to CCO. Where did you get this image from?

Chris

search the file, you get the url: http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Software/Tablebuild/doftp.pl?ftpfile=/cisco/voice/ip-phone/ip-iostsp/cme-full-4.2.0.1.tar

the free space in flash should be enough. the flash size is 128M, the ios size is about 42M. cme-full-4.2.0.1.tar is about 59M.

I downloaded and extracted that file. It has a very different structure than the old CME files have. Is this a new install or and upgrade to a previous version? If this is an upgrade, then I would suggest that you delete everything except for the IOS version ( including directories ) before you begin.

Also, I am not sure about the format of your flash, but you might try the squeeeze command on it after deleting any old files and before putting new files on there.

If this does not resolve it, please include a "show file systems" output and a "show version".

Also -- what IOS version are you running ?

It's a brand new install. I actually erased the flash at the beginning. squeezed it once.

Cisco 2811 (revision 53.50) with 251904K/10240K bytes of memory.

Processor board ID FHK1140F0V1

2 FastEthernet interfaces

2 Channelized (E1 or T1)/PRI ports

4 Voice FXO interfaces

DRAM configuration is 64 bits wide with parity enabled.

239K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory.

4030186K bytes of USB Flash usbflash0 (Read/Write)

125440K bytes of ATA CompactFlash (Read/Write)

Configuration register is 0x2102

I would recommend to open a TAC case for this. You are on the leading edge of code deployment and its possible that 128MB is not enough flash. In the meanwhile, you can use something other than the full image. I would suggest you try the basic CME image instead of full.
