Are there any known issues using Mozilla as a web browser for CCM
The initial pages seems to open fine but any search or change/ add seems to throw a lot of errors

For Linux CCM (5.X and 6.X) my Firefox 2.0 works fine, but for Windows 4.X CCM only IE works stable.

I am using CCM 4.1(3) :-(

My most stable scenario for CCM 4.1(3) is VNC to CCM and then I use IE installed on CCM.
my laptop Java version is always wrong ;)

You can also try using the IE Tab Extension for Firefox. It renders pages like IE in Firefox.
Just do Tools/Add-ons in Firefox and search for IE Tab
