LMS 3.0 software distribution on Catalysts with .tar files?

Does LMS 3.0 allow software distribution using .tar files? for example to manually upgrade a Catalyst 3560 you can either just copy the .bin IOS image or you can use the 'archive download-sw...' command to copy & extract the IOS image and the HTML files from the .tar image. Is this possible with LMS 3.0 via software distribution?

I had a quick search and can only see the ability to import and distribute IOS .bin files?

Yes, LMS allows distribution of .tar files. Some devices (e.g. 3750 stacks) require .tar images, and one cannot distribute .bin images to them.
