HSRP / ETHER CHANNEL(L3 / L2)

Hi,

I am having 2 Core switches(6509) and 1 disridution(3750 stack) switch

connectivity as follows

L3 link between core1 and core 2 (ether channel)

L2 link between core1 and distribution(ether channel)

L2 link between core2 and distribution(ether channel)

the basic problem is that one of the port channels is going into errdiable state and port on dist switch(port GigabitEthernet1/0/25 is up, line protocol is down (suspended))

but if the : L3 link between core1 and core 2 (ether channel)

is changed in to L2 every thing works fine.

can some one suggest me how to go about with L3 link between cores

Hi,

For L3 Port Channel try to configure the following on Port-Channel 1 and Gi5/1 and 5/2 interfaces.

1.Speed 100

2.Duplex Full

Also make Gi5/2 in no switchport mode.
