Hello,

total data = 6GB = 6 * 2^30 bytes = 6 * 2^30 * 8 bits = 48 * 2^30 bits

total duration = 24 h = 24 * 60 * 60 seconds = 86400 seconds

To download the documents you need at least:

(48 * 2^30 bits)/(86400 seconds) = (almost) 600000 bps = 600 kbps

This the pure bandwidth for the documents. It does not iclude network layers overhead.

Maybe if we add another 100 kbps to make it 700 kbps, you will be ok (just an estimate).

Kind Regards,

M.

Hi, You can go for 640,000 bps link to upload your GB, which will take 22 hrs, 22 mins, 10 secs, with out any payload. It has calculated 6GB/day. Thanks Goutam.

Hi Nasheer, You don't mention the duration properly. Per day = 24 hrs? Or the total amount of data (6GB) you want to upload ?

Hi,

Per day = 24hrs

That means 1 MB link is enough. am i right.

Hello,

Yes, 1 Mbps link is fine.

BTW, when we refer to network speeds we write 1 Mbps (which is 10^6 bps). When we write 1 MB, then 1 Mbyte data is implied (which is 2^20 * 8 bits).

Kind Regards,

M.

Hi Nasheer, I'd like to add something with the response of Maria & your post. 1Mbps line, but it is not clear to me… is that Leased line/Internet/MPLS/VSAT? If that 6 Gb data need to cover some security like Crypto then you may need to think before you go for 1 Mbps Link (?). Thanks. Goutam

Hi,

Planning for LL only.
