Can someone please explain to me step by step on changing the network speed to full/100. everytime I do it, it seems to change back to auto.

switch(config)# int fa0/5
switch(config-if)# speed 100
switch(config-if)# duplex full
switch# wr mem
CatOS
switch# set port speed 100
switch# set port duplex full
Note that the port will go down and then up when you change the settings.

Thank you. I am not sure whats going on then. Somehow my speed keeps resetting it's self to auto. I will try again, but thats trhe same commands I am using.

Do you have SNMP management with RW access on the switch by any chance?
