I have a Cat3750 using 802.1x Multidomain Authentication (MDA) on the access ports. Which are Avaya Phones authenticating into the voice domain and cascaded PCs authenticating into the data domain on the same access port. So far everything works perfectly. Now the customer wants to use an additional fallback method.

Does anybody know if there is additional fallback method with MDA that allow authenticate both domain data and domain voice?

Tested IOS 12.2(44)SE.

MDA can use MAC authentication bypass as a fallback mechanism to allow the switch port to connect to devices that do not support IEEE 802.1x authentication. Following link may help you

HI

web authentication is also a good option for clients that dont support dot1x or have the client enabled. Check web auth in the guide below:

Israel,

We are trying to get our Avaya phone to do multi-domain auth and we are having issues. Would you mind posting the specs on your environment and a snippet of the config?

I would greatly appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Patrick
