I am trying to access an application which is installed on my local PC with the following URL http://localhost, when the ip communicator is on it takes me to the Device configuration screen insted of the application, if i block the port 80 will i be able to access the application.

you could always configure your app to listen on a different port http://localhost:8080 perhaps?

is there any posibilty for the ip communicator to listen to a different port since i cannot change the port for the application.

CIPC interferes and conflicts with the web server installed on the PC

You can only disable it but there is no way to have it listen to other port
