I'm setting up QoS on an existing network to support VoIP based on Cisco Call manager, phones and 2600 voice gateways. I'm unable to determine if the gateways automatically tag the RTP and call control packets with the appropriate DSCP values, or if they have to be configured to mark the packets. I dont have access to the network to check, I'm sure the packets will be marked but would like confirmation of this.

By default voice traffic from cisco devices is tagged EF, that is matching best practices.
