Hi there, just a quick question really - if for instance the ip subnet-zero command has been applied to a router can the subnet 0 or broadcast subnet be used with an internetwork? i.e lets say on a point-to-point serial link or a LAN segment?
Thanks,
Garry

Hi Garry
Yes you can use both the subnet 0 and all ones subnet with "ip subnet-zero". Note that after IOS 12.0 the default is ip subnet-zero.
See attached link for more details.

Garry,
Yes, it is possible to use subnet zero and the all ones subnet with the "ip subnet-zero" command applied. Take a look at the following link.

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.

This is what i was looking for! The reason i ask is because of some questions on the Boson CCENT exam which try and catch you out on subnetting questions.
