Hi All,
I was wondering if you can add a service or a speed dial to soft key button.
I have a customer that wants to add a speed dial to all the phones as Line 2. The speed dial is the same number on all the phones.
The only way i can see to add it to the phones is delete all the phones and reimport them with the speed dial in the bat template. I don't see an option in BAT to just add a speed dial to the phone.
Is there a way I am missing? if not can I make softkey that is a speed dial or a service that would dial the 4 digit number when pressed and then add that to the soft key.
any suggestions would be appreciated.
They are running call manager 5.1.3.2000-3
thanks

Hi,
You cant assign a speed dial to a softkey through CallManager.
But you could use the CallManager AXL API to create a script to do this change in bulk for you.
Cheers,
Tim.

thanks tim,
Is it easy to create a script? or i would i be better off if i knew programming?
How do you get/use the AXL API?

You would need a bit of programming / scripting skill.
I taught myself very basic VB.net to take advantage of it.
It may be a bit of a learning curve.. but it would be well worth it. You can do so much with AXL, that you cant do with CallManager Admin or BAT.
Have a look here for some more info:
