I ran DMA today to in order to foresee issues before the actual upgrade takes place which is in about 3-4 weeks -4.1(3) to 6.1-

I good a validation error:

The results are : Export - Successful. Validation - Failed.

I tried to look at the datavalidation.log file, but I cannot find it anywhere. It isn't there.

What other log can I look at? What could be wrong?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Check for the following log files on the publisher where DMA has failed:

C:\CiscoWebs\DMA\Bin\*.log C:\Program Files\Cisco\Trace\DBL\installdb*.*

If there is any mention of the database failing validation look at installdbw1.log

Search for the string *Error* and use the following page to decode whatever Informix errors may be present.

All messages marked *Warning* can safely be ignored.

http://www.oninit.com/errorcode/index.php

I would recommend you opening a TAC case

since there are 1000 things which can be wrong

Just for reference:

For DMA install errors:

Check the following logs:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Cisco\Logs\DMA\

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Cisco\Logs\DMA\DMAInstUI.log

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Cisco\Logs\DMA\\InstallUtils.log

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Cisco\Logs\DMA\IDSInstall.log

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Cisco\Logs\DMA\dbcmds.log

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Cisco\Logs\DMA\dbcmds.log

Thanks. That's exactly what I did (open TAC case)

Carlos.
